The sound quality of the studio is very similar to the Bose QuietComfort series. The most striking difference between the two is that the studios have a stronger bass signature, while the Bose has more defined heights altitudes.
Predictably, studios sound best heard when hip hop or other bass-heavy music - if you hear a lot of electronic music and are just looking for noise-canceling headphones, than I would opt for the Bose.
One of the biggest drawbacks of the studio (and solos) is the general build quality of the headphones as the main material is plastic, and it's very easy to snap the bracket. If you can be pretty rough on your headphones, and can afford to buy professional, I would recommend it, as they are more robust and durable.
